Graduate Diversity at Stanford
Since entering Stanford, I have been committed to opening the pipeline toward the successful completion of graduate school for students like me. When I think of “students like me,” I am referring to all the different aspects of my identity that are underrepresented in elite graduate school programs: women, African-Americans, working-class, etc.
Whenever I can, therefore, I have volunteered my time to participate in various graduate diversity events. These include:
- Panelist at first-year course introducing first-year PhD students to Stanford
- Poster presentation at Grad Diversity Day reception
- Mentor for first- and second-year PhD students
